Staff / Managers

This information applies to all staff who receive employee numbers through HR’s Lawson database, including nurses, ancillaries, and other hospital staff.

All staff are registered for Epic training by their managers. Depending on the training required it could be an instructor-led class or an eLearning curriculum. Once the person is registered for the class or curriculum, an automated email is sent with the appropriate information. Once Epic training is complete Healthstream, Epic access will be granted by Access Control within 48 hours.

If you have Epic access questions, you can call 4-Epic to speak directly to a Service Agent from 7 am to 7 PM Monday through Friday, or search our online Epic Help Center, available 24/7.

We are working on developing Continuing Education for staff. Please check back regularly for new staff courses.


Managers are required to register their staff for Epic training. The goal is for all staff to be pre-registered for training. This will ensure that accurate and timely reports can be produced, thereby expediting the process to get your staff's logins so they can begin working.

Access and Registration Process:
  1. Manager submits an online Access Request Form to the SHC Help Desk for Epic Access and an SID.

  2. Manager registers new staff member for appropriate training class or e-learning. Refer to Curriculum for Non-Providers for class listings.

  3. Once registered, staff will receive an automated email confirmation from Healthstream with class date, time, location and directions .

    1. If eLearning is assigned an automated email is sent with instructions for accessing the eLearning.

  4. When the staff member has completed all required training, they will receive Epic access within 48 hours.
